Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Burton-on-Trent
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a team at an Ofsted rated Good school. The ideal candidate should have:
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged 2 to 18.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Adaptability and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing situations.
Qualifications or Certificates:
A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is required.
Additional certifications in SEN support, safeguarding, or behaviour management are highly desirable.
Experience:
Previous experience working with children and young people with SEN across a wide age range (2 to 18 years) is preferred.
Experience implementing individualised support plans and adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners is advantageous.
Familiarity with working within a school environment and supporting classroom activities is beneficial.
