South Manchester | Specialist SEN & SEMH Schools

Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work within specialist schools across South Manchester. We are looking for individuals who want to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with a wide range of educational, behavioural and emotional needs.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a variety of additional needs, including:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Moderate and Complex Learning Difficulties
Sensory Processing Difficulties
Physical Disabilities
Your responsibilities may include:

✅ Providing 1:1 support tailored to individual pupil needs
✅ Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom environment
✅ Assisting with small group interventions and differentiated learning activities
✅ Supporting emotional regulation and implementing positive behaviour strategies
✅ Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
✅ Adapting learning resources and approaches to meet individual needs
✅ Building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff
✅ Helping create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment

Teaching Assistance

Children's Services
Psychology or Education Graduates
Sports Coaching and Mentoring
The ideal candidate will have:

✔ Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
✔ A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
✔ A genuine passion for helping children succeed
✔ Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) preferred
✔ An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
