Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm

Premier Education is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant for a regular, long-term position at a welcoming primary school in Whaley Bridge.

The role involves working within a Year 5 class every Wednesday and Friday, providing consistent classroom support and helping pupils make positive progress throughout the academic year.

We are looking for someone reliable and committed who can build positive relationships with pupils and work effectively alongside the class teacher and wider school team.

Previous experience working within a UK primary school is essential for this position.

The Role:

Supporting pupils within a Year 5 classroom
Working alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning
Providing individual and small-group support where required
Helping pupils remain focused and engaged with their learning
Supporting pupils with literacy and numeracy activities
Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
Providing consistent support every Wednesday and Friday
Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school is essential
Experience supporting KS2 pupils is highly desirable
Confident supporting literacy and numeracy at KS2 level
A patient, positive and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Reliable and able to commit to Wednesdays and Fridays on a long-term basis
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
