The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside teachers and other education professionals to support pupils with their learning, development, wellbeing and behaviour.

Depending on the school and role, your responsibilities may include:

Supporting the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
Working with individual pupils or small groups to support learning
Helping pupils remain engaged, focused and confident in the classroom
Providing one-to-one support where required
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Encouraging positive behaviour and good classroom routines
Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
Providing pastoral and practical support throughout the school day
Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Teaching Assistant Experience – What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is not always essential.
