TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Ebbw Vale, who are looking to appoint an ALN Teaching Assistant. The school has a dedicated ALN base to support children with additional learning needs, providing opportunities for pupils to develop their confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term temporary basis from January 2027. The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will work both within the specialist ALN base and across mainstream classrooms, supporting primary-aged pupils with additional learning needs, assisting with classroom activities, providing personal care when required and adapting to the individual needs of the children.
The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience working with children with additional learning needs
Experience supporting primary-aged children with ALN in a school or similar setting
Confidence and willingness to support pupils with personal care
The ability to adapt quickly to different situations and think on their feet
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
A patient, caring and positive attitude towards supporting children's individual needs
