Teaching Assistant - College Support Role September 2026 start!

Are you a Russell Group graduate looking to gain meaningful experience within further education? A successful college in Hounslow is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to support students from September.

This forward-thinking college operates across two campuses, giving staff the opportunity to work in different learning environments. The role offers flexibility, with availability ranging from 3 to 5 days per week, depending on the college's timetable and staffing requirements. Typical working hours are approximately 8:45 to 4:45pm.

The college is dedicated to helping students achieve both academically and personally. The Role

As part of the student support team, you will work closely with lecturers and pastoral staff to ensure learners receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed. You may be asked to work across either of the college's two sites, providing a varied and rewarding working experience.

Your Responsibilities

Provide classroom support across a range of subjects.

Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group academic support.

Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence.

Support learners who require additional guidance to access the curriculum.

Assist with preparing learning resources and maintaining an organised learning environment.

Build positive relationships with students, teaching staff and support teams.

Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful atmosphere throughout the college.

Candidate Requirements

A degree from a Russell Group university.

A genuine interest in education and supporting young adults.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, adaptable and professional approach.

Flexibility to work across both college sites as required.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to use your own initiative.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
