Engage Education is currently seeking a dedicated, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may face social, emotional and behavioural challenges, or who require additional support to access education.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
*
Help manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
*
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
*
Support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
*
Encourage engagement, confidence and positive learning outcomes.
*
Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
*
Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in a PRU, SEMH, SEN or alternative provision setting.
*
Is calm, patient, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour.
*
Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*
Can motivate and engage pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education.
*
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
