Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant based in Portsmouth
Location: Portsmouth, UK
Start Date: September 2024
Salary: £78 - £100 per day

Role Overview:
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to provide tailored support and ensure an inclusive learning environment.

About the School:

The school is a SEN School based close in the Portsmouth area for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 58 students in total. The school supports students with ASC and ADHD students. The school also prides itself on its high teaching standards as well as a friendly and enthusiastic team who collaborate on all aspects of teaching. The school place great value in their staff and offer loads of support to its team. The school site also has free parking.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in delivering educational programs and activities.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
Help to create and maintain a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Support students with their social and emotional development.
Collaborate with other staff to plan and organise extracurricular activities.
Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting is desirable.
A patient, compassionate, and understanding approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications in education or child development are advantageous but not essential.
