Teaching Assistant (Year 1) – Full Time

Salford Primary School | Starting September 2026 | Fixed Term for the Academic Year

Are you a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in children's lives?

We are seeking a committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Salford from September 2026. This is a full-time role for the academic year, providing classroom support and working closely with pupils, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The Role

As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to help them reach their full potential.
Provide targeted support for children with SEN, adapting activities to meet their needs.
Encourage positive behaviour and help create a nurturing learning environment.
Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources and daily routines.
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with primary-aged children.
Be patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with young learners.
Have experience supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD or speech and language needs (desirable).
Be flexible, proactive and willing to work as part of a team.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
