Teaching Assistant Required - Blackburn

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Blackburn is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team for a 12-month placement. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual looking to support pupils with additional needs within a classroom environment while gaining valuable experience in a rewarding educational setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and SEN support staff to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with additional needs within the classroom.
Assist with the delivery of engaging learning activities.
Promote positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and parents where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

Minimum of 6 months' experience working within a school setting, or
Minimum of 12 months' experience working with children in a relevant transferable role.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
