Horizon Teachers are currently working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Brentwood who are looking for a caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child with SEND on a 1:1 basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual to make a real difference to a child's learning, development and confidence. The position is full-time, starting as soon as possible and continuing until July 2027.

This school also has parking on site available to use.

Your responsibilities as a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant:

Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a child with SEND.
Supporting the pupil to access learning activities and the wider curriculum.
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
Providing a calm, nurturing and supportive learning environment.
Adapting activities and resources to meet the child's individual needs.
Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation where required.
What are the school looking for in a Teaching Assistant?

Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting.
Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to remain calm, flexible and resilient in challenging situations.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
A proactive, reliable and positive attitude.
