SEN Teachers required for Key Stage 3/4 pupils in an Alternative Provision based in Lowestoft area
Strategy Education are looking for KS3 and KS4 Teachers for the following subjects Maths, Science and PE (the school will consider either Male of Female PE teachers) for an immediate start.
This small bespoke school based in the Lowestoft area last Ofsted was “Good” with some “Outstanding “ features.
The school pay to scale(MPS and UPS) and will consider teachers who are looking for a contract and there is an opportunity for these roles to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school offer a therapeutic and holistic education and the classes are small with plenty of support. Pupils at the school study an engaging and ambitious curriculum and the school offer a wide choice of enrichment experiences.
All lessons are differentiated and tailored to each students’ individual needs.
The leadership team are very supportive of the staff and staff identify pupils’ triggers quickly and respond by de-escalating situations to allow the pupils to continue learning.
Skills and Experience for the role
Qualified Teachers with a background in Mathematics, Science or PE.
Qualified Teacher with experience of working with SEN students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), Attachment issues, and/or Autism.
The school will consider mainstream teachers who have a passion for working with SEN pupils.
The ability to use a variety of assessments in different subjects to revise the curriculum
The ability to teach cross curricular
Excellent knowledge of the needs of SEN students and how best to support them and see through challenging behaviour
The ability to deliver creative and innovative lessons to engage the most reluctant of learners
You must be resilient and a good communicator who can work closely with your colleagues, external agencies and parents
The ability to build good and strong relationships with the students
A good sense of humour is essential!
