Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2024
Contract Type: Full-Time (Part-Time may be considered for the right candidate)
Salary: £30000 – £46525. Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply.

GSL Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join the team of a dynamic Secondary School in Scarborough, starting in September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and support students, within a supportive and effective school environment.

Teacher of Science Role Overview:

As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will have the opportunity to foster a love of science in students, support their academic growth, and contribute to the wider school community.

Teacher of Science Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for science.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, contributing to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning practices.
Support and mentor students, fostering their academic and personal development.
Teacher of Science Requirements:

Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have an equivalent teaching qualification.
Strong subject knowledge in science, with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment for all students.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school setting.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check registered to the update service. DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
References that cover the last 2 years of employment. Placement references will be accepted for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
