Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2024
Salary: MPS/UPS; £30,000 - £46,525 per annum

Contract Type: 0.5FTE, Permanent

GSL Education’s North Yorkshire branch is looking to appoint an ambitious, energetic, and passionate Teacher of Physical Education to work at an exceptional Client Secondary School located in York, North Yorkshire.

Teacher of Physical Education Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive physical education lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of secondary school students
Design and adapt PE curriculum plans that align with national standards and school objectives, ensuring a variety of sports and physical activities are included.
Assess student progress through observations, practical assessments, and written evaluations.
Provide feedback to students, parents, and school staff.
Encourage and promote the importance of physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle among students.
Maintain a safe and orderly environment during PE lessons and activities.
Oversee the use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
Work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff to integrate physical education with other subjects and school activities
Teacher of Physical Education Requirements:

A recognized teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or equivalent, with a specialization in Physical Education.
A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience teaching physical education at the secondary school level is advantageous.
Strong understanding of physical education curriculum requirements, sports coaching techniques, and fitness principles.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with the ability to follow school procedures and ensure student safety.
Have a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
