Teacher of PE

PE teacher required for an oversubscribed 11-18 academy in the heart of Wiltshire. The school boasts excellent facilities, friendly and experienced staff, and a strong and supportive leadership team. Recently graded as 'good' by Ofsted, the school are particularly proud of their teaching and learning outcomes - regularly being placed in the top ten schools in Wiltshire, as well as their commitment to the personal development of students. Expectations around behaviour and student conduct are high, with students recognising the importance of being polite, kind and tolerant of staff and one another.

The appointed candidate would be joining an experienced and well-resourced PE department from November 2024 until November 2025 (mat leave). Possibility with a view to becoming a permanent member of the team. There would be an option to start in September 2024 doing general cover across the school until the PE contract starts in November.

About The Role:

* Full-time or part-time teacher of KS3 - KS5

* Required to plan high-quality and engaging lessons, in line with the curriculum.

* Marking and assessment of student's work

* Flexible curriculum delivery to best meet needs of pupils

* Willingness to attend sporting fixtures outside of normal school hours.

* Some experience of teaching OCR spec is desirable but not essential

* Paid to scale from day one in line with experience (ECTs will be considered)

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (support available for an ECT) or ENIC (was NARRIC) and right to work (overseas teachers only)

* Possess a valid DBS on the update service (or we can process one for you)

* Be a reflective, empathetic and engaging classroom practitioner with the desire to make a real difference to pupil’s lives

* Have high expectations of every pupil

* Be able to easily build a rapport across the wider school community
