Description:

Progress Teachers are working in partnertship with a local mainstream secondary school to appoint an experienced and passionate Teacher of MFL to help strengthen language provision and develop a love for languages at all levels.

Responsibilities:

* Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver high-quality French/Spanish lessons that engage pupils and help them develop their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in the target language.

* Curriculum Development: Support the wider MFL department in developing schemes of learning and resources that are in line with the School's vision and national curriculum guidelines.

* Assessment and Feedback: Conduct regular assessment of all four key skills, in line with departmental/school policy, maintaining accurate records of outcomes for reporting, analysis, and responsive teaching.

* Classroom Management: Manage classroom behaviour effectively through the consistent use of the School's behaviour policy. Strive to maintain positive relationships with all pupils, building an environment built on respect, trust and honesty.

* Extracurricular Activities: Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities related to MFL, such as foreign film clubs, language learning in those languages outside of the taught curriculum, and trips abroad.

* Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments in MFL education, continuously enhancing your own knowledge and skills to deliver up-to-date and relevant content.

* Wider School Responsibilities: Engage and actively participate in wider professional responsibilities such as lunchtime duty, parents evenings, and transition open evenings as required by the School.

Qualification Requirements:

* Teaching Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on MFL.

* Subject Knowledge: A degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field, with a strong understanding of key concepts and a passion for the subject.

* Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a Secondary MFL teacher with a successful track record of student achievement. Experience teaching at least one language to KS4/5 level is essential.

* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.

* Commitment to Inclusion: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.

* A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.

* 2x Satisfactory References.
