Description:

Are you looking for a new teaching role for September 2024?  Look no further- We are seeking to appoint Food Technology Teacher at an outstanding school in Stockport. Come and join our dedicated and enthusiastic team in September 2024 on a permanent, full-time contract.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development: Craft engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that align with the national curriculum, catering to the diverse learning needs of students

Hands-on Instruction: Lead practical cooking sessions and laboratory experiments, providing students with the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of ingredients, techniques, and equipment

Skill Enhancement: Develop students' culinary skills, food hygiene knowledge, and understanding of nutrition through practical demonstrations, individualized feedback, and constructive assessment

Innovation in Teaching: Implement creative teaching methodologies and utilize modern technology to enhance learning experiences, fostering a dynamic and interactive classroom environment

Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across disciplines to integrate food technology into interdisciplinary projects and promote cross-curricular learning

Student Support: Provide pastoral care and academic guidance to students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every individual can thrive

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level, with a proven track record of inspiring students and achieving excellent results
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for culinary arts, food science, and nutrition.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community

To work with GSL Education as a Learning Support Assistant, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
