We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Design Technology & Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Wakefield from January 2027. This exciting opportunity offers a 50/50 teaching split between Design Technology and Food Technology, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to develop practical skills, creativity, and a passion for learning.

Working four days per week, the successful candidate will be part of a supportive and well-resourced department committed to achieving excellent outcomes for all learners.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Teach Design Technology and Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that challenge and motivate students.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider aims of the school.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Has experience teaching Design Technology and/or Food Technology at secondary level.
Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for practical learning.
Has strong classroom management skills.
Is committed to raising standards and improving student outcomes.
Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
