Teaching Personnel is seeking a skilled and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Sherborne area from September 2026.

This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone who already has experience supporting children and young people with additional needs and is confident stepping into the classroom from day one.

We are looking for someone who can quickly build positive relationships, adapt to individual learning requirements, and become a valued member of an established team. This position would suit a proactive professional who is passionate about helping pupils achieve both academically and personally.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support throughout the school day. You will help create a structured, engaging, and nurturing learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

Providing one-to-one and small-group support.
Assisting with personalised learning activities.
Promoting communication, independence, and social development.
Encouraging positive behaviour using consistent strategies.
Supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
Monitoring progress and contributing to pupil development.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families where appropriate.
Helping prepare resources and maintaining an inclusive classroom environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
