About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a thriving Humanities department. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them, fostering curiosity about physical and human geography while delivering engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver outstanding Geography lessons that engage and motivate learners.
Teach Geography across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (where applicable).
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning.
Contribute to curriculum development and department initiatives.
Participate in extracurricular activities, educational visits, and fieldwork opportunities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to support student achievement.
Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and wellbeing.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Degree in Geography or a related subject.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to raising attainment and promoting outstanding student outcomes.
Ability to inspire and engage students of varying abilities.

Desirable Requirements

Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Geography.
Knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment practices.
Experience organising or supporting fieldwork activities.
Ability to contribute to wider school life and extracurricular programmes.
