Our client is looking for a Tax, Trusts & Estates Adviser to join their team in Canterbury, Kent on a hybrid basis.
Working from home is often effective, and my client believe in its benefits, so they have a permanent and occasional working-from-home policy. You would be welcome to propose up to 40% home working.
My client is seeking an expert practitioner to help us develop our trust and tax offering. You may have some legal sector experience, although this is not essential.
You will ideally possess a tax or accounting qualification – ATT, CTA, ACA or STEP, and at least two years of experience working in a private client or trust department.
Your role will involve accounting and tax compliance services for trustees, executors and private individuals and include:
• Preparation of SA100’s, personal tax returns.
• Preparation of SA900’s, trust and estate tax returns
• Preparation of IHT forms
• Estate administration, including estate accounts and associated compliance
• Trust administration, including trust accounts and associated compliance
• Dealing with the registration of trusts and complex estates, and Preparation of CGT Returns.
The position is either full or part-time and will be permanent. If you work full-time, your hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and if you wish to work part-time, my client will want you to commit to at least three days a week. Your salary will be negotiable depending on your experience.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and operate with integrity. You will work closely and proactively with our private client team.
You may consider relocating to the East Kent coast or one of the inland towns and villages. If so, my client will pay your buying and selling conveyancing fees and assist with introductions to our extensive network of local estate agents. Canterbury and Thanet have a wide range of excellent schools that they can tell you about if you have school-age children. If you would be moving away from the capital to take up the post, several local stations are on the high-speed train line to London.
