Description:

An excellent opportunity for a school or college leaver looking to build a career in tax with an independent and growing accountancy firm. You will combine practical experience with a structured Level 4 apprenticeship, gaining exposure to a broad range of tax work while working alongside experienced members of the team.

You will study towards ATT as part of the apprenticeship, with the opportunity to progress onto CTA once completed. This provides a clear professional pathway from your first role through to a recognised tax qualification, while giving you the practical experience needed to develop a long-term career in tax.

Tax Apprentice – About The Role

Working alongside the firm's experienced tax team, you will gain practical exposure to a variety of personal and business tax matters while completing your ATT qualification.

You will learn how tax work is delivered in practice, develop your technical knowledge, and gradually take on more responsibility as your experience grows. The role provides a strong foundation for progressing onto CTA and developing a long-term career within tax. Key responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of personal and business tax returns

Support the preparation of tax computations

Assist with general tax compliance work

Gain exposure to different areas of UK taxation

Assist with client queries and correspondence

Prepare supporting schedules and working papers

Develop your understanding of tax legislation and compliance requirements

Work closely with experienced members of the tax team

Take on additional responsibilities as your knowledge develops

The successful Tax Apprentice will have:

Genuine interest in pursuing a career in tax

Strong academic ability

Good attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good organisational skills

Willingness to learn and develop

Positive and professional approach

Ability to work as part of a team
