Systems Product Engineer required for fast growing, progressive and successful international Aerospace Manufacturer.
Job Title: Systems Product Engineer (Permanent)
Location: Westcott
Salary: £50000 - £60000 per annum plus benefits
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Mon-Friday days)
Opportunity to join a well-established and growing Aerospace and Defence group.
This is a new role within the Systems sub-team of the Engineering Department. The role is responsible for engineering work relating primarily to Flow Control and Pressure Regulation devices.
Duties:
* Work closely with the Project Manager to help plan and organise various tasks and resources for delivery of contract milestones.
* Regular interaction with the customer with responsibility for leading reviews, co-ordinating and preparing the documentation for project key milestone reviews: EQSR, MPCB, PCB, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, DRB etc.
* Support Systems business development work by supporting the development of proposals, and attending/presenting at meetings with potential new customers.
* Training and development of other members of the Systems team to increase the experience level within the team.
* Generation and maintenance of Design, Verification and Compliance Matrix (DVCM)
* Review and input into other documentation (e.g. FMECA, Radiation Analysis, Reliability Analysis, etc.)
* ATP cost reduction, ensuring a robust but low cost ATP for components and units.
* Supporting technicians/test engineers to run QTP testing and ATP testing.
* Support the system level build, assembly and test development process to include reviewing route cards, build sequences and the different processes involved in the system assembly and integration
* Review and provide input into the MIFC
* Assist with preparation, scheduling, coordination and monitoring of assigned technical aspects of the project.
* Manage supplier technical questions, both directly and in liaison with the appropriate resource.
* Support the closure of NCRs in collaboration with the Product Assurance Engineer and IPT.
* Raise and manage project level RFDs.
* Ensure seamless collaboration with the Project Manager, highlighting where necessary an accurate assessment of risks and issues, along with mitigation strategies.
* Facilitate the task planning and scheduling within the product line to ensure priorities are met and workload is level and appropriately managed.
* Cooperate and communicate effectively with Project Manager and other project team participants to provide assistance and technical support where needed.
* Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Skills & Attributes required:
* Relevant Engineering Degree (Masters preferred)
* Minimum 3 years’ post qualification experience in a comparable setting
* Thorough understanding of mechanical and fluidic system engineering
* Proven ability preparing the documentation for project key milestone reviews: EQSR, MPCB, PCB, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, DRB
* Experience developing and maintaining core documentation
* Ability to support all aspects of system level build, assembly and test development process
* Experience leading Acceptance Test Planning
* Commercial awareness sufficient to ensure adequate cost control within all areas of responsibility
* Ability to produce, interpret and review procedures and test concepts
* High level of proficiency in common PC based applications and with knowledge of CAD, Lab Works (but not essential) and related design packages
* Ability to work under pressure to achieve project outcomes on time within budget.
* Willingness to travel between sites as required
