Gearing Recruitment Solutions are working on behalf of an established organisation within the water industry to recruit an experienced Systems Integration Lead to support the delivery of major water and wastewater projects.
This is a key technical and delivery-focused role, responsible for overseeing ICA (Instrumentation, Control and Automation) delivery, systems integration and technical governance across a programme of projects. You will work closely with project teams, design disciplines, Systems Integrators, subcontractors and the client to ensure successful integration, commissioning and handover.
The Role
*
Lead the delivery and technical governance of ICA and Systems Integration activities across water industry projects.
*
Develop, review and communicate ICA delivery strategies, standards and ways of working.
*
Manage Systems Integration procurement, supply chain performance, quality and resource requirements.
*
Coordinate Systems Integrator surveying, design, commissioning and operational support activities.
*
Work closely with project management, design and commercial teams on programme, change, risk and opportunities.
*
Review ICA design deliverables including P&IDs, control philosophies, URS, FDS, instrumentation and telemetry schedules.
*
Provide technical oversight of control system architecture, SCADA, Profibus and package plant integration.
*
Ensure ICA activities, testing and commissioning requirements are fully incorporated into project programmes.
*
Manage and support FAT, SAT, software testing and commissioning activities.
*
Liaise with client operational teams, engineers and commissioning personnel to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
*
Support existing treatment works surveys, migration planning and integration activities.
*
Ensure appropriate Inspection and Test Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements are in place for Systems Integration works.
*
Support client technical submissions, specification clarifications and technical standard deviation requests.
*
Monitor progress, defects and delivery performance, providing regular reporting to senior project stakeholders.
*
Provide technical guidance and support to Systems Integration teams and contribute to their development.
About You
*
Engineering qualification such as BEng, HNC or HND.
*
5+ years' experience within Systems Integration, Commissioning, ICA or a related engineering management role.
*
Strong understanding of industrial control systems, instrumentation and automation within a project environment.
*
Experience with Profibus, Fieldbus and fibre optic systems.
*
Understanding of SCADA, telemetry and control system architecture.
*
Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements within control and automation systems.
*
Experience working with Systems Integrators, subcontractors, suppliers and client engineering/operational teams.
*
Strong planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.
*
Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within programme-driven project environments.
*
CSCS certification is required.
