This role is fully remote with the occasional travel to meetings and training.

Must be UK based and have a right to work in the UK.

We are searching for a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our esteemed client's team. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in configuring, implementing, and maintaining their IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include optimising various technology components such as systems, servers (physical and virtual), storage, and core IT services to ensure top-notch performance and reliability across the network.

Key Responsibilities:

* Set up, configure, and optimise VMware infrastructure for efficient virtualisation and resource utilisation.

* Implement and oversee the use of multi-factor authentication solutions to enhance security across various systems and applications.

* Configure and maintain Windows Server infrastructure (2016, 2019, 2022) to ensure top-notch performance and security.

* Supervise Endpoint security platforms, ensuring effective detection and response to advanced threats.

* Deploy and manage web and reverse proxy solutions to guarantee secure and reliable access to both internal and external resources.

* Set up and manage web security platforms to provide secure web gateway and cloud security services. Oversee email security and threat protection platforms.

* Administer Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services to ensure smooth network operations. Administer cloud solutions, managing virtual environments, cloudstrike, OKTA, Zscaler, TIER 3 IT solutions.

* Manage Certificate Authorities to uphold the integrity and security of digital certificates. Managing virtual environment (1000 virtual / global).

* Provide support and optimisation for Azure cloud services and Office365 applications.

* Implement and oversee backups and replication using platforms like Commvault, Veeam, and Zerto for replication and disaster recovery purposes in Tier 4 data centre environments.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

* Preferred certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, Net+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar, VMware VCP.

Experience:

* Extensive experience in managing and maintaining Windows Server environments.

* Proficient in Endpoint protection for threat detection and response.

* Skilled in web and reverse proxy technologies such as Nginx or Apache.

* Experience in implementing and managing web security and cloud services.

* Deep understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

* Experience with Azure cloud services and Office365 administration.

* Strong understanding of ITIL processes and incident management.

* Familiarity with email security platforms and their administration. Proficient in backup and replication technologies

* Working knowledge of Certificate Authorities and digital certificates.

* Thorough understanding of VMware infrastructure and virtualisation technologies.

* Experience in implementing and managing multi-factor authentication solutions.

Skills:

* Excellent communication skills and able to communicate effectively on every level.

* Adaptability - working within global infrastructure (6 data centres/ )

* Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills. Forward thinking, thinking about future state / planning.

* Maintain confidentiality whilst being open with colleagues and customers. Good team working ethos and capability.

* Fluency in English; additional languages such as German, Portuguese, or Dutch are advantageous. Excellent problem-solving abilities.

* Strong collaborator with a results-oriented mindset, able to hit KPI’s given.

* Autonomy in making architectural decisions - opportunity to be highly involved with projects/selection of platforms.
