The Asset Systems Team has the primary responsibility for configuring and the data management within our principal asset management systems. These applications underpin our entire asset management, work management and operational activities relating to all plant and equipment on the electrical distribution network.

Specifically, SAP PM acts as the asset and work management register for over 6 million assets. Inspection and maintenance activities on the assets are driven by SAP PM and all data recorded during that work activity is held within these systems. SAP PM is the master register for asset nameplate, commissioning, condition, calibration, defect and measurement data. This information is fundamental to the efficient and successful operation of our business, informing our forward investment plans, asset management strategies, legislative compliance and regulatory reporting.

Reporting directly to the SAP PM Manager, the Systems Administrator fulfils an important role of undertaking routine system administration activities, processing third party data exchanges and dealing with many business user requests. You will require a technical understanding of SAP PM, the data which resides in it and engineering knowledge to interpret requirements. The asset data quality is important to the business and tasks will involve working with the Asset Data Quality Analysts to improve the asset data quality, accuracy and completeness within SAP PM and other applications supported by the team.

Whilst focussed on SAP PM you will develop such that they can perform a similar role across all systems for which the Asset Systems team are responsible.

As part of a small, diverse team, the Senior Systems Administrator will help lead the investigation and resolution of system and asset issues. You will also advise on system development, update and performance testing to ensure system and data integrity is maintained.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

Managers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations. This includes briefing individuals working for them and ensuring there is the necessary understanding, competence and application of requirements to work safely and without harming the environment.

Employees will ensure they understand the health and safety risks involved in their work activities and their responsibility to apply the controls needed to manage those risks to acceptable levels. Similarly where work activities can have an adverse impact upon the environment, and where there are legal requirements, employees will understand those impacts and the controls they must ensure are applied.
