JMG Group is a Private Equity backed insurance broking group based in Guiseley, West Yorkshire with strong regional office representation around the UK. We are a top 30 broker, growing rapidly having completed numerous acquisitions, backed by a reputable PE. We place over £500m of Gross Written Premium into the market annually and our teams are well respected by the market. Customer excellence is the backbone of our business, which means that our people, systems, and processes are central to our success.

The opportunity
We have a brand-new opportunity for a Systems Analyst to join our growing team. Reporting to the Broking Systems Manager, this role will provide support to Acturis users to resolve day-to-day queries, while helping colleagues make more efficient, consistent and confident use of the system across the group. This will include items such as adding users, updating user profiles, adding insurers, producing reports for the business and senior management as requested, and identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce duplication and maximise the value we gain from Acturis.

Along with day-to-day queries, this is a key role that will provide systems integration support to our newly acquired and existing broker businesses and be heavily involved in the analysis, preparation and migration of data from their legacy systems into the group Acturis instance, with a focus on embedding efficient ways of working from the outset.

It is essential that the role holder can work both with direction and on their own initiative, managing their own workload to achieve tight deadlines.

The role holder should have the ability to think commercially, appreciate and consider wider implications when recommending change, and consider how improvements to system usage can be positively communicated and adopted across the business.

Knowledge & Skills Required
The role-holder will:

be articulate and confident, with excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills;
have an interest in assuring the quality of client outcomes through accurate, consistent and efficient use of Acturis;
have experience using the Acturis system and an interest in helping others use it more effectively (an understanding of Configuration, e-trade and accounting is an advantage but not a requirement);
have professional and technical skills gained from within an insurance broking environment;
have the ability to get buy-in from others and work collaboratively to support colleagues in adopting efficient ways of working;
have excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask;
have a good understanding of change management;
be numerate, fully IT literate and comfortable with data and analytics to support better system insight and decision-making;
have good working knowledge of Excel to support the production of reports, data checks and analysis of system usage trends;
have good attention to detail and the ability to work to key designated timescales.

General Requirements

Maintain an understanding of the regulatory environment which has an impact and cross over with how we use Acturis, ensuring efficient working practices remain compliant.
Maintain awareness of all risk-related issues and ensure compliance with the group’s policies and procedures.
Maintain effective relationships with all businesses within the group and third-party support to encourage consistent, efficient use of Acturis.
Engender a positive and professional working environment.

Key Performance Indicators

Responsibility for day-to-day queries relating to Acturis, demonstrating a strong “can do attitude” and promoting efficient system use.
Ability to recognise opportunities to improve how Acturis is used, addressing inefficiencies and delivering clear business benefits.
Look for practical solutions to challenges presented, with a focus on simplifying processes and improving user experience.
Demonstrable ability to build strong and effective working relationships with other stakeholders in the business and third-party support.
Adoption of a pragmatic, commercial and business focused approach.
Completes all work to a good standard and within agreed timescales, supporting improvements that are practical, sustainable and adopted by the business.
