ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you a passionate Synthetic Chemist looking to make a significant impact in the field of clean technology? This is your chance to join a pioneering company based in the Oxfordshire area. As a Synthetic Chemist, you will play a crucial role in driving the development of innovative surface-treatment chemistries, contributing to a cleaner and greener world.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Synthetic Chemist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Conduct practical, lab-based R&D to support both existing and new product development programmes.
2. Design and develop synthetic routes to novel surface-treatment chemistries, including synthesis, isolation, purification, and characterisation.
3. Optimise reaction conditions to enhance yield, selectivity, reproducibility, and scalability.
4. Evaluate and interpret experimental results to guide further development and identify new opportunities.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Synthetic Chemist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Chemistry with proven industry experience.
2. Practical experience in organic synthesis or wet chemistry.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
4. Excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and spoken.
