Description:

Role: Sustainability Advisor                                   
Location: Up to £40,000 + car allowance
Location: Southwest (homebased)
Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours a week
 
Our client is looking for a sustainability advisor to assist with the delivery of sustainable solutions to ensure that the activities of the workers does not have an impact on the environment.
Working alongside the Sustainability Manager you will also provide support and advice for the implementation of their sustainability plans and programs
This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to progress! The company will put you through the Member of the Institute of Environmental Management (IMEA) as you will be working towards becoming an Environmental Auditor.
 
Responsibilities

Helping the Sustainability Manager with the development and maintenance of a fully compliant Environmental Management System
Assisting with providing technical support on environmental issues and sustainability innovation in construction
Completing investigations and producing reports
Liaising with client, end user and regulators
Working with project teams to prescribe and support the delivery of sustainability support
Assisting the Sustainability Manager with responding to significant environmental incidents on site 
What you’ll need

Previous experience in an Environmental or Sustainability role.
Awareness of current and relevant Environmental legislation.
Knowledge and appreciation of Environmental Management Systems.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Be able to demonstrate an understanding of at least one area of Ecology and Conservation, Waste Management, Contaminated Land or Sustainable Procurement.
Experience in Data Analysis and Report Writing.
A good level of skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
A Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Management, Sustainability or associated discipline.
You will be working towards becoming a Member of the Institute of Environmental Management (IEMA).
You will be working towards a level as a Environmental Auditor.
