Job Title: Surface Treatment Technician
Location: Basildon
Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-4pm / Fri 7.30am-12.30pm
Pay: £27k per annum
AMLR are looking for a Surface Treatment Technician to join a leading aerospace manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, preparing and treating high-quality metal components to meet strict aerospace standards.
Key responsibilities for Surface Treatment Technician:
* Preparing and operating chemical processing equipment and tanks.
* Cleaning, degreasing and etching metal components prior to treatment.
* Applying chemical conversion coatings, anodising, passivation and other surface treatments.
* Monitoring chemical bath concentrations, temperatures, pH levels and processing times.
* Recording process parameters and maintaining accurate production documentation.
* Inspecting treated components to ensure quality and compliance with engineering specifications.
* Following standard operating procedures and aerospace quality standards.
* Safely handling, storing and disposing of chemicals in accordance with health and safety requirements.
* Carrying out routine maintenance on chemical processing equipment.
* Working closely with quality inspectors, engineers and production teams.
Requirements for Surface Treatment Technician:
* Understanding of chemical handling and safety procedures.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Knowledge of measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques.
* Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Awareness of health, safety and environmental regulations.
* GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and Science.
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in engineering, manufacturing or chemical processing would be beneficial.
* Previous experience within manufacturing, aerospace, automotive or metal finishing would be advantageous.
* Training in hazardous chemical handling and workplace safety would be beneficial.
