Pay Rate: £13.00 - £13.50 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Contract: Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for a Surface Preparation Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing business based in Reading.

This is a hands-on role preparing metal components prior to the powder coating process. The successful candidate will be responsible for sanding, cleaning and preparing products to a high standard before they move through the next stage of production.

The working environment can become very warm during peak periods, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C.

Key Responsibilities

Sanding and preparing metal components ready for powder coating
Removing surface imperfections and defects
Cleaning and degreasing components prior to processing
Masking products where required
Carrying out visual quality inspections
Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
Maintaining a clean and organised work area
Adhering to all health and safety procedures
Requirements

Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, assembly or preparation work would be advantageous
Experience using sanding equipment, grinders or hand tools is desirable
Good attention to detail and quality standards
Physically fit and comfortable working in a warm environment
Full UK driving licence and own transport essential
Ability to successfully pass a DBS check
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
