Job Title: Support Worker Team Manager

Location: Kent

Salary: £37,279-£52,302

Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week 8.30am-5pm

Contract Type: Permanent

Purpose of the Role:

Our client, a leading provider of housing solutions, is seeking a Support Worker Team Manager to oversee the Support Worker Team, ensuring high-quality support for care leavers and unaccompanied young people transitioning to independent living.

The manager provides guidance to staff, monitors care plans, sets Key Performance Objectives (KPOs), and ensures compliance with relevant legislation and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and prioritise tasks to complete 1-to-1s, performance reviews, and care plan monitoring.

* Manage and support a team of Support Workers across Kent, ensuring productivity and quality.

* Meet personal and team Key Performance Objectives in line with contractual and Ofsted standards.

* Monitor staff performance, address issues such as absence or capability, and provide field cover as needed.

* Liaise with stakeholders including local authorities, NHS, Police, and other agencies.

* Ensure staff training and development align with regulatory and contractual requirements.

* Support young people transitioning to independent living, including life skills development.

* Maintain accurate, up-to-date care plans and service records.

* Promote safeguarding and respond to concerns in accordance with company policy.

* Participate in service improvement activities and team meetings.

* Uphold equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.

Required Skills:

* NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Social Care and/or equivalent, or willing to work towards one within a set timeframe.

* Knowledge and understanding of The Children’s Act and Children’s Social Care.

* Proven experience working with young people in a care environment.

* Ability to lead, support, and manage staff performance effectively.

* Solid understanding of safeguarding practices and relevant legislation.

* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate.

* Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.

* Able to manage workload, work under pressure, and meet priorities.

* Self-motivated with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

* Willingness and ability to travel across the Kent area regularly.
