Support Worker (Mental Health)

Description:

Healthcare Talent are recruiting for Mental Health Support Workers to work for a national healthcare provider for contract or ad-hoc (agency) work.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the Hospital including:

* Promoting and delivering a person-centred support culture across the service

* Supporting people with all aspects of their daily living as per their support plan, this may include personal care and taking their medication

* Supporting and coaching people to learn independent living skills like cooking and laundry tasks

* Supporting people to access the community for social, educational or employment opportunities

* Safeguarding service users’ rights and dignity

* Taking an active role in peoples support plans and risk assessment’s

* Provide effective communication within the team and attending regular team & service user meetings

* To liaise professionally with family members and other professionals.

* A positive attitude & passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities

* Can demonstrate a practical understanding of delivering support with dignity, privacy and respect

As a Support Worker you must:

* Have at least 6 months UK experience of working in a similar environment and role

* Excellent communicator

* Keeps accurate and complete records and communication consistent with legislation, policies and procedures

* Strong team-working skills

* A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach

* A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate

* A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice

Desirable

* Experience in the field of CAMHS Eating Disorders

* Restraint Training
