Support Worker – Complex Needs | Sheffield
£14.50 per hour | Permanent | 36–48 hours per week
RTC Resources is seeking experienced Support Workers for permanent opportunities with a specialist care provider in Sheffield.
You will support individuals who need a structured, consistent approach to care, including people experiencing significant distress and behaviours that challenge. Staffing arrangements may include 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 support.
Your role will include

Providing individualised support that protects dignity and promotes independence.
*
Following care plans, risk assessments and Positive Behaviour Support strategies.
*
Recognising behavioural triggers and responding with appropriate de-escalation.
*
Supporting personal care, meals, daily activities, medication and community access as required.
*
Communicating effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals.
*
Completing accurate records and promptly reporting safeguarding concerns.
*
Using physical intervention only as a last resort, within authorised care arrangements and current training.
You will need
*
Previous UK experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
*
Experience working within enhanced staffing arrangements or comparable intensive support services.
*
Practical experience managing behavioural escalation and physical aggression.
*
Strong teamwork, communication and observation skills.
*
An understanding of safeguarding, least restrictive practice and professional boundaries.
DMI/Dynamis training is highly desirable. Candidates with current or recent PMVA or another recognised physical intervention qualification may be considered, subject to training review and competency requirements.
