Mental Health Housing Support Worker

Worcestershire- Worcester

Permanent, part time (22 hpw)

Pay £12 per hour (£23,464 per annum) pro rata and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

Typical day as our Support Worker

Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans.

Support our customers who have a Mental Health Diagnosis, to manage independently in their own home.

Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.

Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.

Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too.

You bring

Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail 

Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.

The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach

Recognise every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs 

To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

Our Team

You’ll join Katie and Sophie our managers, and the Nuffield support team we’re super passionate about what we do! Outside of work, Katie can often be found getting stuck into various DIY projects or baking up a storm. Our team are really proud of our service providing excellent support to customers who live in Worcestershire with mental health conditions rebuild their independent living skills. We’re a supportive bunch and like to get together socially on a regular basis. 

Job details

Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers.

You’ll work in a 24hr service, completing your share of late nights, weekends and bank holidays and sleep in shifts. Staff tend to condense their hours so that they complete all their hours over days so they get more days off!

Although you’ll lone work, we do get together regularly for training and team meetings.

It’s a service based role so you’ll get to know our customers well and be a major role in their recovery! You will support the customers with all different tasks such as supporting customers to attend their volunteering placements at local allotments, supporting customers to maintain their properties or completing their weekly shop in Tesco. No two days are the same!

You’re able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.

You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
