Elm Park Lodge (Residential Care Home) and ML Homes Ltd (Supported Accommodation) are actively looking for Mental Health Support Workers, who have a passion for delivering person centred care and support to residents in both residential and supported accommodation. structured Residential Support Workers
As a residential Support Worker you’ll provide a high level of care and support to vulnerable people, to live a meaningful life by assisting them to carry out daily living tasks which may include, attending appointments, motivating and encouraging them to partake in in-house and external activities as well as providing structured one-to-one independent living skills sessions as a way of promoting independence.
Supported Accommodation Support Workers
AS a Supported Accommodation mental health Support Worker, you will support people with their day to day lives, by helping them to learn new skills and to develop confidence and independence that will allow them to eventually move into independent living accommodation. The duties will mainly involve empowering the residents to do more for themselves, providing joint cooking sessions and outings in the community. The people we support are individuals and they all deserve to be treated as such.
However duties may include supporting with personal care needs, empowering people to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support people’s health and welling such as arts and crafts, drama, musical evenings, enabling people to be involved in household tasks, shopping trips, cooking, as well as supporting people on social occasions
Main Duties:
· Offer comprehensive care and support for all the residents in the home.
· Empower and encourage residents to engage in physical and emotional support
· Apply a person centred approach that meets specific needs appropriate for each resident
· Support with medication compliance and welfare needs
· Observe and report on change in mental presentation and welfare needs as required
· All safeguarding principles to be applied and once observed, report to management to protect vulnerable people from harm, neglect and abuse.
· To support residents with their physical and personal hygiene needs, daily life tasks and activities within the home.
· Maintain a safe and clean environment for all patients and other staff
