Support Worker

A dedicated school for children aged 7-19 years, based in Horsham, who have special educational challenges, are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Support Worker, within a residential children's home, to join their team of highly experienced professionals.

The school has a deep focus on addressing the educational, social and therapeutic needs of students, focusing on individual happiness and well-being where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Referral programmeResponsibilities of a Support Worker:

Ensuring a fair, compassionate, consistent, and well ordered environment is maintained and enouraged.
Supervising children and young people before and after the school day and for activities.
Liaising with other staff, parents, and carers as necessary and maintaining high levels of professionalism.
To maintain a log of all accidents, incidents or physical intervention and to challenge suspected inappropriate practice according to policies and procedures.
Expected to promote and participate in care planning, developing risk assessments, behaviour management and to attend regular team meetings.Requirements of a Senior Support Worker:

To be innovative, creative and flexible, and has an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, self-awareness and acceptance of others.
Maintain confidentiality.
To act as a positive role model at all times.
Attend training on a regular basis to ensure that all mandatory and personal training and development needs are met in line with company requirements.Preffered Experience and Qualifications:

Worked in a support enviroment for at least 1 year.
NVQ Level 2 Health & Social CareCan provide training and support through completing a Level 3 Diploma.

Enhanced DBS needed.
