About Us

Our school is a vibrant and inclusive educational institution committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our students as they progress from primary to secondary education. We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Temporary Support Worker to assist our new Year 7 students during their initial half-term, helping them settle into their new school environment.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Temporary Support Worker, you will:

Provide one-on-one and group support to Year 7 students, focusing on those who may find the transition challenging.
Assist in the development and implementation of transition plans and activities.
Support students in navigating their new school environment, including understanding the timetable, finding classrooms, and using school facilities.
Help students establish new routines and build confidence in their new setting.
Foster a supportive and welcoming atmosphere, addressing any anxieties or concerns students may have.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure a coordinated approach to each student’s transition.
Monitor and report on student progress and well-being, providing feedback to relevant staff members.
Requirements

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
Understanding of the challenges associated with transitioning from primary to secondary school.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting young people.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
