Support Worker – Shrewsbury 
Location: Shrewsbury (support provided in the person's own home)
Hours: Part Time – 28 hours per week
Full UK Manual Driving Licence & access to your own vehicle essential
Salary: £25,845 per annum pro rata

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to provide day and night support for a gentleman in his 40s who has an acquired brain injury and mental health needs. We are seeking positive individuals who can remain calm, patient, and reassuring, particularly during periods of anxiety.
The gentleman we support is a big fan of all things 1980s. He enjoys music, films, and television programmes from the era, supports Shrewsbury Town Football Club, and is an avid viewer of Coronation Street. He has a great sense of humour and enjoys visiting cafés and garden centres, as well as taking short walks in the local area.
Building a positive relationship is an important part of this role, so an interest in similar activities and the ability to engage in conversations around his interests would be beneficial.

About the Role:
No two days are the same, but your responsibilities may include:
• Supporting with day-to-day living activities and promoting independence.
• Encouraging participation in community activities and social opportunities.
• Supporting relationships with family and friends.
• Assisting with managing finances where required.
• Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
• Supporting with shopping and meal preparation.
• Providing and encouraging personal care.
• Promoting wellbeing, confidence, and positive outcomes.

Shift Pattern Requirements:
Candidates must be fully flexible and able to work across a 7-day rota.
Shifts are typically 14 hours in length and fall between:
• 8:00am – 10:00pm
Sleep-in shifts may also be required and will be attached to some day shifts.

What our client is looking for:
• A Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle is preferred. Non-drivers may still be considered; however, applicants must live within a reasonable travelling distance of the service.
• Flexible approach to working shifts across weekdays and weekends
• Positive, caring and reliable attitude
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential
