Support Worker

Location: Alderwasley, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 2SR

Salary: £31,140.20 - £31,931.90 per annum (dependant on qualifications and experience)

Hours: Condensed Rota, 3 on 3 off Rota Pattern - 07:15 to 21:45

The School and Sixth Form is an independent school for day and residential students aged 5 to 20 years with Autism and Developmental Language Disorder.

They are also highly experienced in meeting associated diagnoses and needs, such as Selective Mutism, anxieties and phobias. Their goal for every one of their students is to be happy and healthy with a sense of belonging and purpose. The split school site is located within the beautiful Derbyshire countryside!

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will get to know their residential pupils and support them in all areas of life. You will help to create a happy, safe & caring environment and play an important part in the lives of their exceptional students by being a listening ear, teaching skills for life and planning activities that ensure their students build their confidence as well as a lasting love of learning.

Skills and Qualifications

Relevant Level 3 diploma OR willingness to study
Due to their rural location a driving licence and own transport is essential
A passion for supporting young people to achieve their best outcomes
Previous experience of learning disabilities, mental health and / or challenging behaviour desirable, but full training can be provided for the right candidate
Willingness to work shifts that include some evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
