Job Title: Support and Retention Officer
Location: Walsall (WS1)
Hourly Pay Rate: £18.06
Hours: 20 per week
Length of the contract: 1 month with potential to extend

Gi Group are now seeking to appoint an experienced Support and Retention Officer to our client based in Walsall. The Support and Retention Officer will play a key role in the set-up, organisation, and ongoing delivery of the Supported Internship Pilot Programme, ensuring that only eligible young people sign up.

Duties of the Support and Retention Officer

To ensure that the Supported Internship Programme is run in accordance with the pilot rules and regulations provided by the ESFA.
To assist the Apprentice Programme Lead in coaching and supporting apprentices to aid retention.
To work collaboratively with other Training Officers, Learning and Development Consultants, and Connected Working Coaches so that programmes are not being delivered in isolation and form part of a wider strategy.
To work with training providers, both internal and external, to ensure that high quality learning interventions are delivered in accordance with specification and contract and are effectively evaluated and developed.
To assist in identifying and progressing opportunities for income generation.
To evaluate supported internship activity at operational level to ensure value for money, continuous development, and enhanced customer experience.
To provide learning and organisational development advice to a diverse customer base.
To assist in identifying and contribute to the continuous improvement and leading-edge strategies and interventions for supported internships and apprenticeships.
Role Criteria

Educated to Level 3 or above and show extensive experience in Supported Internships and Apprenticeships.
Hold a teaching/training qualification or have evidenced based experience of delivery to a wide range of audiences.
UK Driving Licence.
Willingness to undergoing an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS.
Significant experience of designing and delivering both face to face and online to individuals or groups using Microsoft Teams or equivalent.
Current knowledge of national and local drivers in supported internships and apprenticeships.
Experience of planning and managing internal and external information events e.g. events are advertised in a timely manner and places are filled on learning events.
Experience of commissioning learning and development providers or services and an understanding of best practice policies and procedures.
