Description:
Supply Chain Planner
£40,000 - £43,000 per annum
Wembley
Talent Guardian is recruiting a Supply Chain Planner on behalf of an established food business based in North West London. Part of a larger group, the site handles a broad product range across multiple suppliers, both UK and imported.
This is a role for someone who wants ownership rather than order processing. You will hold your own supplier base, build the supply plans behind it, and be the person who spots the problem before it becomes a stock out.
What you will be doing You will place orders against your assigned suppliers and hold the supply plans that sit behind them, working to lead times, minimum order quantities, shelf life and safety stock. Forecasts will land on your desk and part of the job is knowing when to challenge them.
Day to day this covers:
Creating and maintaining supply plans for your supplier base, and reviewing stock holding parameters regularly
Keeping systems current through launches, promotions, delists and amendments
Minimising stock outs by monitoring stock movement and investigating discrepancies before they escalate
Supporting import and customs administration, and managing transfers from 3PL partners
Playing an active part in the monthly S&OP process The other half of the role is analysis. You will generate the KPI reporting for the supply chain function, track service levels and availability trends, build and maintain supplier performance scorecards, and produce the reporting that flags supply risk and inventory exposure ahead of time. Working capital and inventory trend analysis sits with you too.
You will work across buying, operations, commercial, finance, technical, warehouse and logistics, so this is a role with genuine reach across the business.
