About the Company

This company is an industry leader within the joinery sector who are notably part of a wider construction group that turnover circa £140m per annum. Established for over 30 years, this business has built an outstanding reputation within the interior fit out market working on London’s major construction schemes for a variety of blue-chip Main Contractors, such as Mace, Sir Robert McAlpine and Lendlease. Our client specialises in super prime residential and complex commercial schemes, giving them an impressive portfolio of successfully delivered flagship projects. They predominately specialise in high end joinery but also offer a full turnkey service controlling full fit out packages which typically range from £1m to £18m in value. This contractor is notably a cash rich business, offering stable and attractive career development opportunities.

About the Role

Due to successful tendering and a healthy forward order book, Our Client is looking to expand the joinery arm business and are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join their procurement team based in Borehamwood and Central London. They will consider candidates from either a specialist sub-contractor or main contractor background but must have proven construction experience with established supply chain connections. This is an opportunity where, performance will allow you to climb seniority ranks within the business.

Requirements:

* Work with buying department to create/manage the supply chain strategy.

* Is able to travel to our suppliers within the United Kingdom on a regular basis – travel is a big part of this role.

* Manage and analyse data from shipping and delivery process to overcome supplier and programme issues.

* Assist supply chain in successful production of joinery and door sets products.

* Find cost effective methods to run supply chain.

* Able to work closely with contracts managers to ensure project specific requirements are catered for.

* Can work with our storage facilities manager in arranging storage and transportation of our joinery and doorsets around the south of England, within the M25.

* Can work with excel spreadsheets to produce delivery / production schedules and track the pathway of our joinery and other products through the various stages of development and manufacture.

* Has the ability to read drawings and implement spot checks both at the suppliers facilities and our own storage warehouse ahead of delivery to site.

* Can chair a joinery pre-start meeting to ensure the selected supplier is both able and has included for all aspects of works prior to commencement of manufacture.

* When not travelling between suppliers and live projects, they will be base at either at our Stewartby warehouse facility of Head office at Borehamwood.
