Description:

Supply Chain Manager

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire | £50,000–£60,000 DOE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business in Mansfield.

This is a key management role with responsibility for the end-to-end supply chain, including planning, materials, purchasing, inventory, warehouse and logistics. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service and senior management to ensure materials and finished goods are available when required, whilst maintaining stock, service and operational performance.

The role will involve managing and developing the overall supply chain operation within a high-volume manufacturing environment, overseeing demand and supply planning, forecasting, materials requirements and inventory management. The successful candidate will work closely with Production and Planning to optimise schedules, capacity and delivery performance, whilst managing supplier relationships and resolving any supply or delivery issues.

A key part of the role will be ensuring the effective flow of materials and finished goods through the warehouse, including accurate receipt, storage, inventory control and despatch. Working closely with Warehouse, Purchasing and Production teams, the Supply Chain Manager will ensure material availability, stock accuracy and efficient material flow, with SAP/ERP systems used to maintain accurate inventory records.

The role will also involve monitoring stock levels, supplier performance, OTIF and other key supply-chain measures, identifying potential shortages, capacity constraints and production risks and taking action to minimise disruption. Close communication with Sales and Customer Service will be required to understand customer demand, forecasts and delivery requirements.

Continuous improvement will be an important part of the position, with responsibility for identifying opportunities to improve planning, purchasing, inventory, warehouse and logistics processes, whilst improving efficiency, cost and service levels. The successful candidate will also provide regular supply-chain reporting and analysis to senior management and lead, support and develop members of the wider team.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a Supply Chain, Materials or Planning management role, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment such as FMCG, plastics, packaging or another high-volume production sector. A strong understanding of production planning, forecasting, materials and inventory management, purchasing, supplier performance, warehouse and logistics processes is required.

Strong SAP or ERP/MRP experience is highly desirable, together with experience of supply-chain KPIs, continuous improvement and team leadership.

Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the confidence to work across departments, challenge existing processes and make commercially sound decisions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supply-chain professional looking to take genuine ownership of the supply chain within an established and growing manufacturing business
