Are you an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer looking for a new and exciting opportunity to join an established engineering business on a 6-month temporary contract?

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded quality professional to become part of a highly experienced team based in Alton. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supplier quality management, continuous improvement initiatives, and supplier development projects, ensuring products consistently meet the highest quality standards and customer expectations.

Offering hybrid working, a competitive salary of up to £65,000, and the opportunity to work closely with suppliers and stakeholders across the business, this role would suit someone with a strong background in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and improve supplier quality and compliance against company quality requirements.
Conduct supplier quality system audits and support the approval and ongoing qualification of suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance through quality scorecards and drive improvements where required.
Work with suppliers and internal teams on FAIRs, PPAPs, Certificates of Conformity, Material Certificates, Control Plans and PDIs.
Investigate supplier non-conformances, failed PPAPs and quality deviations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
Lead and support root cause investigations and corrective actions, using methodologies such as 8D and A3.
Participate in Material Review Board meetings and support the disposition of non-conforming materials.
Support the introduction and qualification of new suppliers.
Work with suppliers on continuous improvement projects, workshops and training.
Review customer specifications, technical drawings and build procedures.
Support internal teams in achieving SQDC performance targets.
Ensure raw materials and supplier products meet required specifications and compliance standards.
You’ll ideally have:

An Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years’ experience in a similar Supplier Quality/SQE position.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems and Lead Auditor qualification.
ISO auditing experience.
Experience using quality improvement tools including APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA and Control Plans.
Strong problem-solving experience using 8D, A3 or similar methodologies.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement principles.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Experience working with and managing external fabricators/suppliers.
Welding experience.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel approximately.
