Site Supervisor / Foreman – Groundworks
Location: Chinnor, Oxfordshire
Rate: Negotiable depending on experience
Duration: Initial project expected to run for approximately 12 months
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 07:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekend work available
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor / Foreman to oversee a major groundworks package in the Chinnor area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy contractor on a long-term project with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
*
Supervise and manage up to 4–5 groundworks gangs, each consisting of approximately 4–5 operatives.
*
Drive productivity and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
*
Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to ensure site teams have everything required to maintain progress.
*
Monitor daily site operations and maintain high standards of health and safety.
*
Liaise with site management, subcontractors, suppliers, and operatives.
*
Ensure works are completed to specification, quality standards, and project deadlines.
*
Deliver site briefings and toolbox talks where required.
*
Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact programme delivery.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, Foreman, Groundworks Foreman, or similar role on industrial groundworks or civil engineering projects.
*
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple gangs and drive site productivity.
*
Experience coordinating labour, plant, and materials on busy construction sites.
*
SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
*
Valid CSCS card (any colour considered depending on experience and qualifications).
*
Relevant NVQ qualification desirable.
*
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and site operations.
