Location: Enfield HQ (Covering Hertfordshire County Council patch)

Pay Rate: £27.00 per hour (CIS)

Contract Type: Long-Term Ongoing Contract (Immediate Start)

Working Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (Mix of site visits & office collation)

We are urgently recruiting a proactive, client-facing Maintenance Supervisor to join our Specialist Division operating out of our Enfield office. Managing work streams across a major, multi-million-pound Hertfordshire County Council framework, this role oversees minor works, refurbishments, and maintenance across public non-housing assets—including local libraries, care homes, day centres, fire stations, council office blocks, and rural council estates.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision & Subcontractor Management: Oversee and coordinate specialist sub-contractors and in-house multi-trade operatives across active commercial and civic sites.

Site Scoping & Client Scoping: Meet directly with Hertfordshire County Council surveyors on site to inspect required works, take comprehensive notes, and define scope of works/specifications.

Commercial Pre-Pricing Support: Collaborate with internal Quantity Surveyors (QSs) back at the Enfield office to compile accurate costings and provide client cost certainty on jobs over £5k.

Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct site safety checks, enforce RAMS compliance, and ensure sub-contractors work safely under SSSTS/SMSTS guidelines.

Flexible Split: Balanced routine between being hands-on out on site across Hertfordshire and spending dedicated time in the Enfield office to finalize pricing, reports, and scheduling.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

Supervisory Qualifications: Valid SSSTS or SMSTS certificate (NVQ Level 2+ in a relevant trade preferred).

Non-Housing / Commercial Focus: Background managing general building refurbishments, minor works, or commercial maintenance. (Candidates with a pure housing background who are eager to adapt to non-housing works are encouraged to apply).

Technical Building Knowledge: Solid general building expertise across internal refurbishments, joinery, roofing, or minor civils/tarmacking.

Client Liaison & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to meet client representatives on-site and scope out works professionally.

Licence & Commute: Valid Full UK Driving Licence and based within a practical daily commute of the Enfield / Hertfordshire region.
