Our client, a leading organisation operating within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) sector, is currently seeking an experienced Subcontracts Supervisor to join their team in the Newcastle area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all subcontract administration activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring subcontractors deliver against commercial, contractual, safety, quality, and schedule requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business working on complex and high-value engineering and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and administer subcontract agreements from award through to project close-out.

* Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.

* Review and process subcontractor applications for payment, variations, claims, and change orders.

* Support tendering activities, including subcontractor prequalification, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.

* Maintain accurate subcontract records, correspondence, and reporting documentation.

* Liaise with project, engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams to ensure effective subcontract management.

* Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.

* Participate in subcontractor progress meetings and performance reviews.

* Ensure all subcontract activities comply with company procedures, contractual requirements, and HSE standards.

* Support the resolution of subcontract disputes and commercial issues.

* Coordinate subcontract close-out activities, including final accounts and completion documentation.

Requirements

* Degree qualified in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

* Significant experience in subcontract administration and management within EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, power, or industrial projects.

* Strong understanding of contract management principles and industry-standard forms of contract, including FIDIC.

* Experience managing subcontract variations, claims, payments, and commercial negotiations.

* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/contract management systems
