Subcontractor / Payroll Administrator 16 Months FTC (Maternity Cover)

The Morris & Spottiswood Group are a leading provider of fitout, housing, maintenance and M&E services to the retail, banking, commercial, education, housing and healthcare sectors across Scotland and North West /West of England. Our offices are based in Glasgow, Livingston, Warrington, Carlisle and Leeds.
We currently require an experienced Payroll & Finance Administrator based in Glasgow supporting the Finance Team. This is a full time maternity cover role that will be a temporary 16 month FTC, with a starting date in Spring 2024.
This is a varied role that requires strong administrational skills as well as having the ability to communicate across all levels. Ideally you will have worked within the construction industry and have experience of working in a finance administrator or payroll role.
Experience of Microsoft Office applications is essential; a working knowledge of Outlook, Word & Excel. Experience in Navision Finance System would be advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility of home working at management discretion. There may be a requirement initially to attend the Glasgow office during a training period.
Reporting to
Senior Finance Administrator
Weekly Payroll Duties
* Analyse time sheets for Lled weekly paid operatives ensuring completeness
* Ensure all time sheets are filled out correctly with job numbers
* Input time sheets into the payroll system including job costing detail
* Verify input data and run payroll
* Submit FPS to HMRC
* Issue pay slips
* Have an understanding of and process payments for Statutory Sick Pay (adhering to the different working rules), paternity leave payments etc
* Filing of all relevant documentation
* Provide holiday cover for M&S and/or LBS weekly payroll
Subcontractors Duties
* Update Subcontractors CIS details and Insurance cover notes
* Chase expired insurance and update as and when received
* Production of weekly payment run from Subcontractors ledger & sending remittances
* Liaise with QS Departments on all matters concerning Subcontractors
* Add new subcontractors to Navision when approvals are received
* Provide holiday cover for Senior Finance Administrator
The successful candidate will have:
* Strong administration skills including being able to effectively organise their workload.
* Experience of dealing with weekly payroll, ideally within construction
* The ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
