Description:

We are urgently recruiting a Sub Agent to join a tier-one main contractor. In this role, you will take direct responsibility for managing sub-contractors and site engineering teams delivering complex groundworks and reinforced concrete (RC) packages for a new structural link bridge.

This initial assignment runs through to March 2027, with strong performance unlocking long-term, multi-year pipeline opportunities across the client's regional framework.

The Role

Reporting into the Project Manager, you will lead daily site execution, focusing on heavy civils, groundworks, and structural concrete packages. Your day-to-day will involve:

Package Management: Taking end-to-end operational ownership of groundworks and RC packages, ensuring full technical compliance and safety standard enforcement.

Temporary Works & Deep Foundations: Managing complex temporary works schemes, including cofferdam installations, working platform creation/maintenance, and deep foundations.

Subcontractor & Engineering Leadership: Coordinating specialist subcontractors and direct site engineers, managing daily resources, and keeping the short-term lookahead programme on track.

Technical QA & Commercial Support: Overseeing ITP sign-offs, TQs/RFIs, site diaries, and capturing scope changes to support the commercial team.

HSEQ Compliance: Enforcing strict site safety rules, RAMS, and environmental controls on a regulated, high-security site.

Essential Requirements

Reinforced Concrete (RC) Expertise: Must have extensive, proven experience managing heavy RC structures, foundations, and concrete packages.

Temporary Works Management: In-depth, practical knowledge of temporary works, cofferdams, and working platforms (Temporary Works Coordinator qualification is a plus).

Leadership & Management: Strong track record working as a Sub Agent (or Senior Engineer looking to step up) on major transport, civils, or regulated infrastructure projects.

Technical Qualifications: Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Site Ready: Valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and the ability to pass standard background/security clearance checks (e.g., BPSS).
